Ngorongoro Crater Day Trip
The best single day for Big Five sightings.

The Tarangire National Park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of acacia woodland and giant African baobab trees with huge swamp areas in the south.
Both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals during the dry season. Tarangire is famously known for having some of the largest herds of elephant in Africa. The park also contains more than 550 bird species — yellow-necked spurfowl, white-crowned shrikes and black-necked weavers are among the most frequent sightings.
The tour starts from Arusha and ends direct back to Arusha. You will be picked up either from your accommodation, lodge or hotel. The tour starts around 5:00–5:30 am (East African Time) where you will have breakfast around Makuyuni for no less than half an hour, then head direct to the Tarangire gate for a quick entrance check and then begin your game drive. After your game drive, you will have your afternoon lunch around the picnic area near the Tarangire River. You will then have time to enjoy your evening game drive and depart straight back to Arusha.
